Our initial focus has been on rural primary schools in the Acornhoek / Bushbuckridge district of Mpumalanga and our introduction into the schools has been via our Eco Villages. Support-a-School Eco Villages, ripened in partnership with our sponsor Make A Difference Leadership Foundation, are the entry point in developing a broad-based relationship with a school. Eco Villages consist of a large vegetable garden plus refurbished classrooms with vibrant murals for conservation-based lessons. Once a school has shown that they value their Eco Village, Eco Children works with the school to modernize essential infrastructure such as libraries, kitchens, toilets and school halls, transforming them into places that are conducive to learning. Read increasingly Kit-a-Kid While working on various projects in our polity it became evident that many of the children in our unexplored schools did not own a school uniform. The Kit-a-Kid initiative was born from this need: through donations and fundraising, children are supplied with a well-constructed school uniform. Read increasinglyTopicstowers The third phase of whole school minutiae is working with our unexplored schools to build the topics of educators. We run regular and ongoing topics towers workshops for Level R educators as well as maths workshops, both areas of unconfined need. Read increasingly Eco Training Eco Children facilitates workshops with variegated eco-based themes for children and adults to teach them well-nigh the environment they live in. Read increasingly Bursaries We work with our unexplored primary schools to identify talented learners for our Bursary programme. Promising students are selected by Eco Children for consideration for scholarships and we mentor these students and monitor their progress to requite them the weightier possible opportunity for wonk success.
